When the EV charger is busy or broken
It happens. The charger is busy or out of order, or the car will not start charging. With a plan B, it only costs a small detour.
Check status before you go
Many operators report whether their charge points are available, busy or out of order. Elmer shows e.g. "3 of 6 available" where the operator reports it. If your stop becomes busy or breaks down while you are on your way, Elmer suggests another charging location.
If the charger will not start
Always have a backup charger
Do not run the battery lower than you need to reach another charger. On roads you do not know, 15–20% on arrival is a good margin. Save a few chargers as favourites on the trips you often drive.
